Hello team,


I have discussed this with our SME team and they do agree that since shared technician ports aren't used on the newer platforms, setting a shorter timeout seems sensible. They suggest to submit a Request For Enhancement (like we did on case TS010801527). You can submit the RFE here:

    Thank you for submitting this enhancement request.

    After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming deliverable. Feedback below from the architects:

    There is a deliberate 10 minute de-glitch to avoid logging false positives. While this can be annoying for testing purposes, not flooding the event log and clients inboxes every time there is a network glitch outweighs the potential benefit.

    We appreciate your input and hope that you will continue to submit enhancement requests, as this feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Spectrum Virtualize and FlashSystem family.

    To clarify the expectation, the request here is to modify the code such that an alert is generated within 30 seconds when an ethernet port goes down.

    Currently there is a 10 minute delay between interface down and logging the event. If the communication is recovered before 10 minutes are reached the event will not be logged.
