Populate user friendly naming convention & protocol on notification - GUI enhancements

Hello IBM Team, We came across the notification which shows the "Ethernet port failure" but in details sections the Event ID Text has "Fewer ethernet ports operational" but its not populating the right naming convention & right protocol type to locate the issue port until the user know the environment well. It would be fine if the notifications shows below.

For instance:

Case#1

  • Event ID Text has "Fewer ethernet ports operational"

  • Location: Node 1

  • Protocol: ISCSI

  • port_id: 4

  • Node_id: 1

  • adapter_location: 7

  • adapter_port_id: 2

Case#2

  • Node:slot:port : 1:7:2 (slot refers the port)

Either the way, we need clear information which make an end user to easily understand about the issue and locate the port.

Please feel free to revert back, and try to implement the required information on GUI page for user friendly access.

Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. While we would like to implement all the Ideas we receive, for maximum transparency we are closing enhancement requests that don’t currently appear on our near-term roadmap. We may revisit this request in the future.

The additional data on the error notification can be interesting to understand the details, but expectation is not for the user to decode the information on that screen. The expectation is that they will click the Run Fix button and see the guidance.

We appreciate your input and hope that you will continue to submit enhancement requests, as this feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Virtualize and FlashSystem family.

    Thanks,
    FlashSystem Team
