PB- Replication: In certain instances the QA databases are refreshed daily from the Global Mirror targets. With the current process on the SVC you can specify the replication direction for example “svctask startrcconsistgrp -force -primary master 5”. On the new policy based replication it is very easy for someone to accidentally restart the replication in the wrong direction using the command line on the wrong storage device(DR), e.g.if they should issue “chvolumegroupreplication -mode production 5” on the wrong storage device(DR). This will restart replication backwards and overwrite production with old data. The GUI is verifying that via a message, before allowing.

Anyone doing such tasks, can do easily fatal overwrites in the wrong direction when using the CLI. Especially in an Disaster Recovery Situation.A message like you are intending to replicate / sync from X to Y. Are you sure?

IBM FlashSystems using PBR is no IO (No read or write) on the Mirror/DR side impacting operation procedures on the AIX Hosts. They cannot send any IO to the luns so the AIX host is failing the Paths. Validate the paths are clean by doing a healthc...

implement an "auto" setting for volume mirror sync rate

currently the volume mirror sync rate can only be set to a fixed value. while it's great to have this real-time setting, it would be even more helpful to also have an "auto" setting for it to have the system decide at which rate it can sync/format...
