Flashcopy Mapping - right click restore

Problem Description

I just spent 3 days with IBM support trying to figure out how to restore a flashcopy from a target volume to a source volume.  Finally support found a 2013 storewize v7000 redbook that listed to 2 commands.  (ie Creating a reverse mapping and starting the mapping with -restore).

That means in more than a decade that flashcopys have existed IBM hasn't found fit to add a simple right-click restore function to the gui that could do these 2 commands enmasse?!

Recommendation

Add a right-click restore to flackcopy mappings AND flashcopy consistency groups.  XIV had this, VMware has this, and just about EVERY OTHER modern storage array.

Expected Results

I fully expect this to be ignored and be redirected to using the new volume snapshot  and volume groups.   Please note:

  1. These are not fully baked
  2. They are not support for Storage Protect snapshot (or whatever it's called today - FlashCopy Manager (FCM)).
  3. I need and will be using FC for the foreseeable future.
