This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

1. Scratch count alert if it goes down to 2 or less – need alert
Answer: TSM 6.3 is going to have scratch tape data, so you will be able to setup an alert if scratch tapes get to a certain level.
4. Library goes down page on call
Answer: We will have library data being collected in TSM 6.3, along with its status. You should be able to create a situation to run a script if a library's status becomes unavailable.
5. Can't connect/log onto TSM server from client
Answer: If this type of error is reflected in the Activity log, then you will be able to mine the activity log for this error and then notify someone via a script in ITM
6. Servers that have not made a connection for more than 30 days.
Answer: If you mean a computer that needs to connect to the TSM server, then we do not have the ability to say that it has 'connected', but there is the ability where you can ask ITM if the computer has done a backup in the past 30 days.
7. Servers that have missed/failed or have not completed backups for more than 5 days.
Answer: Same as in #6
8. drives/paths go down, just open a ticket only
Answer: We have Drives in TSM 6.3 being monitored now, and you can configure ITM to execute any script you like, even if you have a script that will open a ticket.
9. Largest backups - Monitor if the servers need to go LAN free if they are backing up large amount of data.
Answer: You can easily see, today, who is using the largest amount of storage on the TSM server(s). We are enhancing this a bit for TSM 6.3
I would like to remove item no 2 and 3 from the monitoring requirement list, because we are good with those two requirements.
But I would like to add with this RFE that existing agent that we have in place is not working with heavy running TSM server, TSM admin complains that this agent choke the server resource. Agent seems to be running okay with light TSM servers.
