SVC STAT Tool should show volume and pool names

Currently the IBM Storage Tier Advisor Tool does show volume IDs and pool ID instead of human readable names, In addition those IDs are shown in hex format which is nowhere used in the SVC CLI or GUI.

The tools seems to be created/targeted at DS8000 customers, because there the hex format is used for LUN IDs.

The STAT tool is a useful thing, it just needs to be finished. I wholeheartedly voted yes to have this done. Let me know if you would like help testing it; I had a lab environment with SVC.

It is 2017 and this feature would be very useful. Who honestly works with only ID's? Like I know what vdisk id 456 is? Please use the names (vdisks, mdisks, pools, etc) instead of IDs.!

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller (SVC) / Spectrum Virtualize

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller (SVC) / Spectrum Virtualize

The STAT output would be a lot more helpful if it had meaningful volume names.

Also, given 300GB SSDs are WDFM, we should update the recommendation to reflect the 200GB and 400GB SSDs and ideally add logic so the compare isn't always based on adding 900GB of RAID SSD.

Come on, IBM, it has been almost 2 years since the STAT tool was released and not a single improvement. The current implementation is clearly geared for DS8K and an embarrassment to use for SVC customers.

Yes, that would help a lot
next step is to include that information directly in the GUI

100% agreed - the lack of a hex-to-human readable conversion feature in the STAT Tool output is just inane.
