Storwize V7000 automatic SNAP sent together with call home for problem notification

On the Storage Scale Server (SSS) formerly ESS, the "mmlsnsd" command should show the NSD disk primary/secondary server relationship as previously done and does so for Spectrum Scale on SANs and Lenovo DSS.

Citi needs increase for the max limit for vol name

Chatting with our dev team, the max limit for vol name length is 63 in the code (though we see 58 for ours). They can officially start working on increasing it with an RFE from Citi. I pushed for 256 and they’re open to it.

Spectrum Virtualize does not warn or advise about number of backend paths

Spectrum Virtualize family of products do not advise administrators of missing paths (started at 4 and dropped to 2) nor does it advise when you have too few paths (2 instead of say 6 needed to take full advantage of backend storage) in the GUI or...

Spectrum Virtualize does not provide a warning nor prevention of too many paths visible to hosts. This is very common and causes many performance impacts or non-optimal performance.

Write-lock files during restore operations

We regularly have to do partial restores on active systems, and/or on shares where the users still have access and can be impatient. Unfortunate experience and subsequent testing shows that no locks are placed on files while they are being restore...
