This is still in plan and you should see it as part of the next major release. In the short term, note that the enhanced features of the Virtual Storage Center (and Tivoli Storage Productivity Center) have made pool rebalance available. Please check with your IBM sales representative for more information.
This is a feature that will save countless hours of administration time, while also likely eliminating many support calls when an admin manages to inadvertently create a problem when manually rebalancing. This feature will be a real difference maker. The real key will be the integration with the auto-tier feature, because you probably will not want the re-balance to move data off of tiers that it has been advanced to...
this is planned for an upcoming release but probably not until 2H2013 at the earliest at this time.
This feature will be extremely valuable to our SVC clusters as we add and remove storage.
