This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Hello,
Is it possible to have an answer to the previous request ?
for more information, the nickname is not enough (only 8 caracter)
Best regards
Adrien
we would see this in cluster settings / Rsyslog and add a text zone corresponding to name.
See example in word.
Antony.
Hello,
Your solution doesn't met our requirement. Nickname is limited to 8 caracters and in relation to SMS name would be very usefull.
Our syslog must identify the VTS with minimum 22 caracters.
What we want is a solution to change the name that is sent in rsyslog as in case TS007248781
Thanks.
As of code levels R5.1, RSYSLOG includes the TS7700 distributed library ID and the user defined cluster ???nickname" in the hostname (e.g. distributed-lib_SN_MI-host-name). The cluster nickname is set up under the Cluster Summary Action drop-down under ???Modify Cluster Identification" on the TS7700 Management Interface. Does this meet your needs?
Today, when data are sent to syslog, device name is by default:
LinuxServer @ 00C42_78-H9210_VTSPCCL0
for internal reason, we have to change it to:
LinuxServer @
Please provide an example of how you would see this working and where would user input this source name. Please elaborate.
