This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thank you for submitting this enhancement request, unfortunately, we currently do not plan to implement this enhancement request, the same type of functionality can be achieved by using a script or a macro.
If I understand you, with this method there's a single move data process running concurrently (because of wait=yes). If I want to run 30 processes concurrently, I need to run the script 30 times which is not that convenient.
Even if I could do this with a script\macro, it still means I need to create the txt files and do a lot of manual work in order for it to work. If TSM had a built in feature that allowed me to do it with a TSM command it be preferable.
Hi Arthur,
have you tried using sql to make a macro file which dsmadmc can
execute? For instance -
select 'a'||volume_name, 'move data ', volume_name, ' wait=yes' from volumes where ... >> macro.txt
select 'b'||volume_name, 'checko libv ', volume_name, from volumes where ... >> macro.txt
Then sort macro.txt by the first volume_name and the a|b column. Remove the a|b and the first volume_name and you will have a file
which dsmadmc can run to do what you want.
A nice pc editor helps with this, I use Ultraedit.
I have done things like this many times. Unless I completely misunderstand what you requirement is - and I don't know anything
about VTL's - I can't see the need for it.
