This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Customers use GM when there is a requirement to maintain an aggressive RPO. However during GM there could be instances when the quality of link between DC & DR can deteriorate due to packet losses or high latency which could be a temporary phenomena. This affects host latency immediately leading to very high read as well as write response times which is unacceptable when customer is running a critical workload. While GMlinktolerance parameter can be used to set the period for which such high latency can be tolerated, sometimes it does not still serve the purpose due to quick escalations from users in case of high latency. Hence it would be use to at least send an alert to system administrator whenever there is a 10 second period of high latency. Customer can take a call to whether suspend replication or know whenever there is a period of high latency. They can deploy in-house automated tools to suspend latency even before the storage suspends it with a 1920 error.

New policy-based async replication introduced in 3Q22 (8.5.2.1) automatically switches between cycling and journaling modes to maintain RPO target without impacting host latency.
