Respect the TIER of the source volume when adding a volume copy to avoid performance impact

When a client adds a volume copy to a vdisk, for example when converting a volume from Basic to HyperSwap (but other situations would also apply), the SVC SW does not respect the TIER of the source volume when allocating the extents of the volume copy. This can lead to immediate performance issues, mainly for write operations, as all write operations will be done on both volumes. If the TIERs are very different when comparing source and target volumes, it will cause performance impact.

Can you details, tiering move extends regarding the usage, if I understand correctly, what you propose is during the copy to use the same tier (source/target). how you manage if during the copy the tier change for the copied extends (eg destage as not used) ?
Can this situation also create a performance problem forcing to destage other data from the tier if the room is taken by the extends of the copy ?

I agree, if not able to create using the same level, at least the best available.
