The is a discontinued Linux distribution that provided a free and open source community-supported computing platform, and AlmaLinux is a free and open source Linux distribution, production-grade enterprise operating system that is binary-compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Due to this move of discontinuing the CentOS and customers are moving to this new Linux version Almalinux we need to enable support.

Almalinux is being used by several customers who are migrating from CentOS/RHEL to this new flavor. IBM Defender data protect does not currently support this OS.

We need support for VM/physical server - AlmaLinux is a OS, so can running on bare metal or hypervisor. In on my customer there is running on both cases.
filesystem - Almalinux OS used XFS filesystem as default.
