Multitenancy Support for S3 Glacier feature on Diamond Back and planned on TS4300

Finnish market needs multitenancy support to DiamondBack S3 Glacier and TS4300 S3 Glacier implementations, since all large customers who are planning onprem S3 installations are behind service provides. Service providers do not typically implement one costumer specific solutions and we do have very limited number of customers who's own deep archive cpasity need is in a Diamond Back total capacity level. So this is needed to fight with tape S3 solution against IBM competitors disk based solutions.

Some requirements for the multitenancy:

  • We are very outsourcing oriented market. Almost all large customers are either operating on onprem managed service platforms or on global cloud SaaS service providers. We would be happy to challenge service providers who have datacenters in Finland, how to provide S3 storage to their customers, but multitenancy is obviously mandatory requirement.

  • Multitenancy should support: Customer data is kept separated from other customers data in all layers (management and storage)

  • Multitenancy should support end customer specific setups e.g. customer specific buckets with dedicated encryption keys and other parameters.

  • Multitenant network support e.g. VLAN support so that multiple customers can have ”dedicated” connectivity to system
