Multi-factor authentication for Storage Deep Archive

IBM Storage Deep Archive software version 1.2.0 does not currently support Multi-factor authentication for administrative access. This feature would be particularly useful for customers requiring this kind security enhancement, and would greatly increase the adoption of this technology when integration of this kind is required.

In high‑value, regulated environments—broadcast media for instance—MFA is often a non‑negotiable requirement. Without it, a compromised administrator password could grant an attacker full control over archival tape libraries and their sensitive contents related to public information services and even cultural heritage of a nation.

Many customers already standardize on Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management and by integrating Deep Archive with Entra ID, we can immediately leverage its built‑in MFA capabilities.
