This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

When we backup the service protection to an s3 compliant backup location, the service protection cannot be replicated to another s3 compliant backup location say at a DR site. It would be ideal if we can replication the service protection backup to another location and have the ability to restore that to another s3 backup location and be able to see all the backups even if the original s3 backup location is not available. Currently, the original s3 compliant backup location needs to be available in order to restore the service protection backups, but what happens when that original location is down / unavailable. Being able to replication the service protection and the instance backups to another s3 compliant backup location and also being able to restore the service protection and instance backup to another s3 compliant backup location when the original s3 compliant backup location is not available would be a great enhancement especially in a DR scenario.

Well, we would like to use our native backup tools to perform the replication. We back up the service protection to an s3 compliant cohesity endpoint, we were informed while looking at this product that we would be able to to replication it to another cohesity s3 compliant endpoint, but that turned out to not be the case, as we were informed it was not supported. Yes, in the interim, I was informed to use MCG to achieve this, but why setup another "tool" to do this when it would seem, this should be something easily achievable using out native backup application, without the need to set up MCG.
@Matthew Kelm - IMO this should be possible by using the MultiCloud Gateway today
Isn't this already supported?
