This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

I have been informed that in order to restore a cp4d cluster to a DR site, we would need to have available the existing s3 backup storage location, as the service protection backups do not support being replicated from one s3 backup location to another offsite backup location. We replicate our critical backup data to a DR offsite location to an s3 compliant backup solution. We were under the impression that we would be able to replicate the cp4d service protection and application backups to this location and then be able to restore the cp4d application at the dr site in case of a disaster at our main site. Working through this scenario has shown, this is not supported and it does not work, as the original s3 backup storage location still needs to be available and having this in the cloud is not an option for us. It would be great to have the ability to be able to replicate the cp4d service protection backup and application backups to a secondary s3 storage location and then have the ability to restore the service protection from that s3 storage location and then be able to restore the cp4d application, without the dependency of needing to have the original s3 backup storage location available.
