Request for Modification of Reserved VLAN 4091 provisioning, in Fusion HCI

Currently VLAN 4091 is reserved and used by default by the product for internal communications, for provisioning and that’s ok. The problem starts when you have more than one Fusion HCI rack in the same cluster, so you have to extend 4091 to all involved racks.

This can be a problem because VLAN 4091 may already be in use on customer switches or unavailable because already internally used in switches or due to corporate networking policies.

This limitation can create challenges when integrating Fusion HCI into customer network environments. We would like to request an enhancement that makes the currently reserved VLAN configurable, allowing customers to choose the VLAN ID that best fits their environment during the installation and configuration of the Fusion HCI system.

The objective is to increase the flexibility of the product and simplify its integration into different customer infrastructures by removing the dependency on VLAN 4091 and enabling the use of a customer-defined VLAN according to local networking standards and requirements.

We remain available to provide any additional information or technical details that may be required to evaluate this request.
