Support Fibre Channel (FC) adapters on Fusion HCI for SAN connectivity

With Fusion HCI Control Tower and ability to created Hosted Clusters, there is a demand from customers to connect their existing SAN storage using CSI drivers. Therefore, we need

  1. Fusion HCI baremetal nodes to support FC cards - 32Gbps dual-port Emulex or Qlogic cards that are standard across Lenovo or Dell nodes

e.g Dell servers options

a) Emulex LPe35002 Dual Port FC32 Fibre Channel HBA, PCIe Low Profile

b) QLogic 2772 Dual Port 32Gb Fibre Channel HBA, PCIe Low Profile, V2

Use case:

  1. Fusion Access for SAN for OCP Virt

  2. Low latency OCP container workloads that need RWO access

Customer prefer Fusion HCI as a turnkey solution rather than procure and build their own, hence providing the ability to install FC cards as an option for the above use cases.

Must have to support current environments. If we are serious about MIGRATING from VMware, we have to embrace the FC SAN that exists today....Why is this so hard to understand...support the past and provide a bridge to the future. Otherwise a huge chasm exists. This is a migration play, not a rip and replace play. Get in touch! This should have been in v1.0!
