This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

In addition to data movement between "legacy" storage pools and Containers, we need to have the ability to move data between container pools as needed. This includes:
Directory to Directory
Cloud to Cloud
Cloud to Directory
Currently, Spectrum Protect provides the capability of tiering data from a Directory container pool to a Cloud container pool, but there is no way to retrieve that data out of the cloud if needed. Reasons this might be necessary:
1. Organization changes cloud service provides, and needs to move data from one cloud pool to another
2. Data sets that have been tiered to the Cloud container pool has been deemed as sensitive data per Federal or Local government legal requirements, and cannot be stored in Public Cloud storage.
3. Similar to #2., data is being replicated from on-prem storage pool to another SP server using Cloud container pool, and has been deemed as sensitive data per Federal or Local government legal requirements, and cannot be stored in Public Cloud storage. The data needs to be moved to a separate Directory pool that is not replicated to a Cloud pool
