We would also add that there have been some significant improvements made to deduplication in the TSM v6.3.4 version of the server and would recommend moving up to this level to pick up those enhancements.
We are planning to make improvements to our deduplication methodology in the next release but in a way that is different from what has been suggested here. We believe these improvements will provide a better solution for many use cases and likely relief from the problem you are asking us to resolve. If after the next release of the product you would like us to reconsider this requirement, please submit a new request.
Thank you for your request and our apologies for the great delay in response. This improvement fits within our strategic plan, and we have added it to our list of items to implement in one of our upcoming releases. This is not a firm commitment to deliver the function since our strategic priorities can change, but we will update the RFE when we have made a final decision.
