SPectrum Virtualize provides Comprestimator statistics on board the Spectrum Virtualize layer based on RACE algorithm. There e are other possible hardware / software compression targets (FS900, FS9100, ...) for which Comprestimator is available in server mode and compression results are significantly different from the RACE based one. This RFE request the possibility to indicate which Comprestimator flavor should be used by the Spectrum Virtualize engine when exploring all vDisks managed. This would provide a far better estimation useful in situations such as:
1) clients want to acquire FS9100 or FS900 as back end arrays and prior doing it, they want to evaluate compression savings - implementing this RFE would improve Virtualize GUI comprestimator accuracy and when accuracy is needed eliminate the tedious need to run Comprestimator on each server.
2) Clients are already running FS9100 or FS900 as back end arrays and they want to control physical capacity utilization of vDisks after compression by FS arrays from the virtualisation layer - implementing this RFE would improve Virtualize GUI Comprestimator accuracy and deliver more reliable compression estimates
