This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Add "remove disk" function to the GUI. To remove a disk required using the CLI. In the above ticket, the SV1 phoned home for a drive throwing errors. It was determined the drive needed to be replaced. The SSR went on site and was working with the clients help desk. There was no option in the GUI to "replace a drive" . There was an option to "reseat a drive". Becuase the client person was not familiar with the CLI, they chose to just reseat the existing drive. And hold off replacing till they could engage a storage engineer.

What is the status for this function? Will it be implemented in the GUI...or, via revised instructions from support?
Proactively replacing a drive that is not prompting actions in the DMPs or showing any errors can be done via the CLI or GUI. However, it should not be done without guidance from Support.
We must ensure that Support has full instructions to carry out the procedure.
