Restriction to hardware and number of volumes for data compression on svc & v7000

As a storage administrator, I would prefer there are no limitation of number of volumes I can compress on the svc or the V7000 to make my life much easier. I enable the compression and the only thing I will worry about is convert volumes to compressed instead of worry about number of volumes on each IOgroup. If the limitation is lifted and each there ara tools to help value the resources used/needed if we decided to go ahead and compress all volumes.

    Hi Amber,

    this is on the roadmap and lifted for DRP pools. There are other limitations on DRP (pool size related to segment size).
