This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

When we open the SVC management GUI and go to the screen named “Download Support Package” (where we can view or create support logs), the GUI has pre-selected a view that shows a list of available files. Usually the SVC node that is selected for viewing (only one node of the 8 available nodes is shown) is usually NOT the configuration node. This is unfortunate because when we generate new snaps for IBM analysis, they will be collected only in the /dumps directory of the config node.
I am mystified as to why the default view isn't ALWAYS pointed to the config node, because if you want to download one of these files to your laptop, you have to be looking at the file list from the config node to even see that the newly created SNAP file exists.
My suggestion to the developers is that they should ensure that the “Download Support Package” should always default to view the contents of the /dumps directory of the configuration node. This would alleviate some amount of confusion on our part when we go looking for the files that we need.
As a point of reference, we have seen this behavior on our current 7.4.0.8 code, as well as some of the previous versions that we have been running.

Attachment (Description): SVC GUI image capture showing that the default view is pointed at Node 7 in our 8-node SVC cluster. This is the issue at hand, as the actual CONFIG node is currently Node 2. 16,svcmbge01s-n2,,500507680100D949,online,0,io_grp0,yes,,DH8,iqn.1986-03.com.ibm :2145.svcmbge01v.svcmbge01s-n2,,75AXXH0,,,
