This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Currently, Error ID 9053 "Node has been missing for 30 minutes" and Error Code 1195 "Node has been offline for 30 minutes" generate a Severity 3 (low priority) PMR through call-home, and do not give any additional details. In the customer's case (PMR number provided here) there was a significant delay in resolving their issue caused by the call-home generating a Severity 3 rather than a Severity 2 PMR. The reason the SVC today does not treat Error Code 1195 as Severity 2 is because "most" nodes who leave the cluster re-join on their own following a reboot. This should not be assumed, as this PMR shows it is not always the case.
I would like to propose an enhancement whereby the call-home can include logs from the IPMI interface of the failed node as well as wait 15 minutes from the moment the node leaves the cluster - if it rejoins, a Severity 3 PMR is opened; if the node does not rejoin after 15 minutes, a Severity 2 PMR is opened.
