Expansion of volumes with a Metro Mirror relationship

Actually you need not only to stop a mirror relationship when you want to expand a volume, you have to delete it. That means that there´s a need for a "full synchronization after creation" which takes a lot of time in case of large volumes due to the bandwith restrictions of a initial synchronization as backround copy.
(With IBM DS3/5xxxx it is possible to expand first the target volume and then the source without deleting the whole copy relationship).

    Hello,

please add this feature also to expand Volumes with a FlashCopy-Mapping... Today we have to delete all the FlashCopy-Mappings, to expand the source Volume and lose the fast recover point...

    Best regards,
    Stefan

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller (SVC) / Spectrum Virtualize

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller (SVC) / Spectrum Virtualize

32 votes and nearly one year after the last feedback of a developer still no progress. RFE´s seems to be a really lengthy process obviously :-)

This is something highly sought after from an SLA perspective for our work environment as well.

Discussed this with development and though it is not in the current plan, it is something we think would be good to have. We can't commit to it today but development will size the effort to bring this in, product management will review the impact and then prioritize this for possible inclusion in a future release.

This is also a requirement, but less critical for flashcopy relationships, especially incremental flashcopies, such as those used for Flashcopy Manager/backups.
