This request is to enable Walgreens to implement zoning best practices within their PureFlex environment with NPIV and dual-VIOS as documented at:

Each deployed LPAR with NPIV will result in (8) WWPNs per host (4 active, 4 offline for Live Partition Mobility use). Due to the current implementation of IBM''s Power deployment tools (VMControl and PowerVC), the hosts are deployed only to IOGroup0, even in a multi-IOGroup cluster.

The customer requires the per-IOGroup limits raised as indicated below:

Total Fibre Channel ports and iSCSI names per I/O group
Current limit: 2048
Request increase to: 4096
This would allow 512 total hosts with 8 WWPNS per host (512 is the current Host Object ID limit per IOGroup)

Fibre Channel host ports per I/O group
Current limit: 1024
Request increase to 4096
This would allow 512 total hosts with 8 WWPNS per host (512 is the current Host Object ID limit per IOGroup)

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software

    Product - IBM Storwize V7000, V5000 and V3000
