DHBA Command Support on FlashSystem

Dear IBM Development Team,

We would like to formally submit this IBM Idea / Request for Enhancement (RFE) to request consideration of an enhancement related to FlashSystem behavior identified through an IBM AIX support case.

Background

During the investigation of AIX case TS021258098, IBM Support confirmed that the observed behavior is a product limitation on the FlashSystem side, specifically within the switch emulation layer, and that the issue is working as designed.

The behavior is related to the handling of DHBA command support, where the Management Server rejects related CTIU requests, resulting in repeated informational/error messages being logged on the AIX host. While there is no functional impact to I/O operations, the behavior affects system monitoring, diagnostics, and operational clarity.

Enhancement Request

We would like to request IBM Development to consider one of the following enhancements in a future FlashSystem release:

Add DHBA command support within the FlashSystem switch emulation layer, or

Provide an option to gracefully handle or suppress DHBA-related rejections, avoiding unnecessary error/event logging on connected hosts.
