Allowing a host to be a member of multiple host_clusters

Our strategic FlashSystem customers has requested an enhancement to improve flexibility in their environment. Today, a host can only be associated with a single host_cluster, which limits certain operational scenarios. The 1:1 restriction creates administrative overhead and forces customers to implement workarounds (individual mappings, oversized host_clusters). For a better customer experience, it would be very valuable to support the capability of assigning a single host to multiple host_clusters simultaneously.

Please consider adding support in IBM Spectrum Virtualize / FlashSystem to allow one host to be part of multiple host_clusters, while maintaining compatibility with existing multipathing and host access control mechanisms.

Backup proxy servers need to access every volume in different clusters. It would be more easy, than using private mapping.

A host cannot be a member of more than one cluster. Can you provide an example or a use case where the same host is part of multiple clusters?
