This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

With the avenue of reclaim_se utility to automatically reclaim capacity of thin vdisks part of standard pools, clients are starting to ask support at times regarding the reclaimable capacity on their volumes. The command lsvdiskanalysis, from client view does not display this reclaimable value - only available via logs to support.
The value can be calculated via lssevdiskcopy used_capacity minus lsvdiskanalysis thin_size. Created cli script related :
lssevdiskcopy -bytes -nohdr | while read id rest; do lsvdisk -bytes $id | grep -m 1 "used_capacity " | while read text1 usedcap; do lsvdisk -bytes $id | grep -m 1 "real_capacity " | while read text2 realcap; do lsvdiskanalysis -bytes $id | grep thin_size | while read text3 thinsize; do echo "Reclaimable capacity on volume id" $id " : " $(((usedcap - thinsize)/1024/1024)) "MB Space required on pool to reclaim: " $(((realcap - (usedcap - thinsize))/1024/1024))" MB"; done; done; done; done
Could we suggest this reclaimable space on each vdisk be added to client view of CLI lsvdiskanalysis? Or even better to each volume GUI properties?

There is not a column that shows how much space will be reclaimed by the reclaim_se utility, but in 8.7.1 and newer, there is a new column available in the GUI which shows written capacity, based on lsvdiskanalysis
So you can visually compare the used capacity and written capacity columns in the GUI
