Policy Based replication - Keep the target volume mapped to the host when the source volume is removed from the source volume group

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

On Policy Based replication, When I remove a volume from the source volume group, it should only remove the volume from the target volume group, the volume should not get removed from the array or mapping. It should still be available under the host mapping.

Also, the target volumes should have the ability to resync again with the same source volumes to establish a replication again. The volume should have a staging area to avoid resync from the scratch.

To map a recovery volume to a host, the solution is to make the volume group independent before deleting volumes.

If you remove the volume from both source and DR volume groups, then re-add it to the source, it will resync. It will not re-use the existing volume on the DR side and trust that the data remained exactly consistent.
