Extend PBR command set

Currently PBR has some "limited" set of command available, because the idea was to keep it simple and more automatic possible.

Some customer which are exploring PBR, believe that having the chance to "STOP" and "START" a VG replication w/o necessary to make the target independent and w/o to remove or change the things from the policu will be very helpfull.

One specific use case is when the bandwidth between the sites is shared with other applications and quite poor, it could be possible that some VG replica would be required to be temporary stopped and restarted when needed.

Yes. We may revisit this request in the future as the customers gain more experience with PBR and have additional feedback.

Ok, let's think in this way.

The customers use to maange the replica on their own with start and stop commands will get more familiar in a short future and if what the PBR is giving will be accepted, it will be simply fine, otherwise we will come back with additional use case or specific comments.

    Thanks

Thank you for submitting this Idea. We are currently evaluating your request.

If there is not enough bandwidth, PBR will automatically prioritize the applications with the lower RPO target. There should be no need to manually STOP and START replication.

If you need to lower the priority of a volume group, you can swap to a replication policy with a higher RPO target.

    Thanks,
