Change to CIM support

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

On version 8.6.1 and newer, support for the CIM protocol is removed. Some third party applications that connect using the CIM protocol will need to be updated.

Interesting, that quoting IBM, IBM Storage Protect Snapshot qualifies as "Some third party applications"
    Dear IBM,
are there any plans/roadmap to update IBM Storage Protect Snapshot to substitute CIM for static target allocation for somethin else?

IBM Storage Protect Snapshot doesn't support REST. This will prevent the customer from updating his SVC.

SP Snapshot 8.1.24 uses CIM for static target allocation.
REST is not supported for either static or dynamic target allocation.
SSH is used for dynamic target allocation.

We have Solarwinds for monitoring all systems and there isn't any roadmap to updates.

If the storwize upgrade test is able to discover that CIMOM has been used in the last 48hours, can you also obtain and display the IPaddresses of the connecting end-point facilities to help with identifying what connecting resources need to be updated/reviewed.

We are using ServiceNOW CIM to discover our arrays and want to upgrade to 8.7.x code. How to we allow our systems to be discovered without using CIM and SNOW?

We upgraded our FlashSystem 9500 and it deprecated CIM which affected all of our FlashCopy integration with Storage Protect Snapshot. How can we proceed?

Our Storage protect snapshot version is

    IBM Spectrum Protect Snapshot 8.1.11.0 (898) Nov 2 2020.

SVC link is an error on the docs page and will be corrected.

CIMOM is not supported in 8.6.1 and newer.

It was still present in 8.6.0 and the docs include instructions for programmers who are migrating away from CIM to REST API.

    Hi,
IBM docs for 8.6.x Flashsystem 9500 still states that CIM/CIMON/SMI-S still is supported.

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/flashsystem-9x00/8.6.x?topic=agent-cim-system

So is it or the public docs are wrong?
