This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

One limitation at this time is that the 3-site HyperSwap relationship must be deleted to perform a reverse FlashCopy, in which case the 3-site HS is reconfigured to cause an initial copy.
Reverse FlashCopy are used as one of the normal operational items, although less frequently, to recover from logical failures and operational errors, and so on.
Reverse FlashCopy is a technique that is also used in SGC, and we recognize that it is not special, but a commonly used feature.
The customer operates several systems with a capacity of around 100TB, so it is necessary to avoid initial copying, especially since it takes a long time to establish remote relationships.
So we request to eliminate this restriction regarding the reverse FlashCopy with 3-site HyperSwap relationships.
When performing a reverse FlashCopy, it is normal to stop all host I/Os to the target VOL and dismount it, so there is no problem in implementing the function based on this assumption.
