Use Volume Groups for host mapping

Volume groups have become more and more useful for new functions such as SafeGuarded Copy, Snapshows 2.0 and regently Policy Based Reprication.

While some customers my not be able to utilize the new functions new or when they start with a new flashsystem, it would still be beneficial to utilize volume groups for host mappings, i.e. map a complete group of volume to a server.

Now when such a user starts using snapshots, replication, ... alter on the volumes are already grouped and implementation becomes really simple.


Also this will make it easy to map a replicated VG to a server, or a VG snapshot to a backup server.


Related idea:
The more volumes groups get used the more helpful it becomes for Storage Insights and Spectrum Control to also collect volume groups and display them in the UI, e.g. for simple capacity reporting and trending, ...
