SpVirt installation automation

The goal is to automate the initial installation wizard, to make the installation of tens of the same systems easier (use case = 60 FS5035s)

Currently you have to first enter an IP address via the Technical Port.

Having to enter that IP manually would be ok, but cu would like a way to automate the items in the wizard following after that step, like

  • Accept license aggreement,

  • Call home

  • Event notifications

  • Etc..

So that wouldn’t involve raid configuration, hyperswap configuration etc… it’s really only the administrative stuff that is mandatory to enter when going through the wizard.

Even with LSI-based products that IBM used to OEM, you could save the entire configuration to use for DR or as a Template for installations of new storage devices. The manual and tedious mechanism of setting up devices have gone the way of the Dodo bird.
