Spectrum Virtualize: use FQDN's instead of IP addresses Merged

UPS have deployed five FS9200 storage systems across their Open Systems environment for specific applications. IBM and UPS are looking at expanding the footprint for other applications across the UPS environment. To do so they have several requirements, including this request. UPS want the ability to use Fully Qualified Domain Names throughout the Spectrum Virtualize software configuration, rather than IP addresses. The comment from the customer:

"When setting the email server to use in the IBM array the array requires an IP instead of using a DNS name for the SMTP server. This is a problem as we use DNS to failover primary devices for SMTP as well as we do this for most of the items we point to. Nothing in an array config should have IP set and should use DNS names for SMTP, NTP, SNMP and things like that."

We will have to meet the customer's requirement(s) before we will be able to expand the IBM storage footprint.
