SVC volume mirror combined with Safe Guarded Copy SGC

We want to have Spectrum Virtualize volume mirror function combined with Safe guarded copy on the same source volume.

ADCB is one of our most strategic clients for us in the banking industry in the region.

ADCB is using SVC technology for the last 12 years and they are one of our biggest references where they virtualize multiple systems behind SVC with multi Peta byte capacity of IBM flash and Spectrum Storage Suite.

ADCB is interested by deploying a ransomware protection solution and they are excited with our safeguarded copy technology, and they also need to have SVC volume mirror to achieve local high availability.

As of today we can't combine both features on the same source volume.

If we are not able to provide this functionality this will impact our Q4 2021 deal and force client to explore other competitor solutions.

Appreciate if we can consider this functionality and have a clear date when we might expect this on our product roadmap.

    My client is almost exactly like ADCB. We have over 70 SVC clusters and leverage vdisk mirring for HA and GM for DR. They would like to take advantage of SGC, but, need to have SGC support vdisk mirrored volumes.

    152399 - SGC support for stretch cluster is related but different request.

    This request is not an duplicate to "SGC with enhanced stretched cluster" because this is a different client requirement.

    The request 152399 is related to SVC stretch cluster while my request is related to volume mirror and NOT stretch cluster.

    The client needs protection against back-end storage failures/outages (vdisk mirror only) not against site failures, so I am not proposing stretch cluster I am proposing basic volume mirror in the same site to achieve volume high availability within the same site.
