Better representation of a "Migration" type session state in CSM

Migration type sessions in CSM are designed to run replications in async mode (Global Copy) only. When you start a migration type session, the replications start in the GC mode and the session is in the "Preparing" state and it has a status of "Warning". But when the progress of the replication hits 100%, the session remains in the "Preparing" state and the session status is still "Warning". This causes the entire CSM server to be in an amber "Warning" status and we need to make sure it's only the Migration sessions that are in the "Warning" status and everything else is fine.

It would be a much better representation of the replication status if the Migration type sessions show "Normal" and green when the replication progress hits 100%, as the session is in its expected state and there's nothing further to progress regarding replication. This would also provide the entire CSM to be in a green "Normal" state and we will not have to repeatedly check if anything's wrong unnecessarily.

So the Migration session....or any relationship in GC mode, may reach 100%....but might not stay at 100%. There is no way to tell in CSM that the hosts have been shut down and that more i/o won't flow. I suppose for just the migration session we could try to move it to green status if we reach 100% but if we see less than 100% again we can go back to Preparing. The concern there would be that the session may flip-flop quite a bit causing a lot of session status change events.

I'm not sure we can implement this exactly as requested. But we understand your concern and can look at options.

In the meantime....CSM doesn't charge per CSM server. Have you considered running your Migration sessions on a server separate from your main replication so that you can better track status on those?

You could also use automation using the remote syslog capabilities...or email/snmp events....so that you know if there's been an actual status change.
