ESS should be able to notify customers if there is filesystem corruption (currently they can't in their default configuration).

There is NOTHING worse than undetected filesystem corruption in a storage system. But, as shipped to customers, all ESS storage systems will NOT notify you if there is filesystem corruption. They can _detect_ it, but they can't notify the customer...
