Connect to an AWS S3 bucket with an IAM Role

Our customer wants Spectrum Protect to be able to connect to an AWS S3 Bucket using an IAM Role without the need of the access key and the secret key. Today other products are able to do it.

Spectrum Protect should support Linux GFS2 filesystem

GFS2 is the standard filesystem used by Red Hat clusters for concurrent storage. It's in the same class of filesystem storage as GPFS (Spectrum Scale)

To fix the backup issue happening due to the mounted snapshot for FLR

As of now the backups are failing for the VMs for which the backup snapshots are in mounted state for FLR. There are some critical restore request which takes plenty of time to copy the files (due to size) and we are forced to keep the VM mounted....

include a record in SPserver SUMMARY_EXTENDED for missed scheduled ( successful=no )

We need a single table to compute SLA , summary_extended seems to be the one to use. But we realized missed schedules are not included . they are in the events table.

File Type retention storage pool

Only Tape class is supported as Retention Pool however many customer that has NAS appliance as secondary backup storage instead of Tape like to use retention set with a copy to secondary storage.
