Fast replication of tape

During tape replication over a longer distance, RPO time can be quite long (>1 h). In a disaster recovery scenario, this is not acceptable. Potentially we could loose critical data.

Check and Validate data on Export media

There is a government regulation for checking information on external physical tapes. External tape information can now only be checked on a single and clean cluster that is not in the grid and we can't do any data validation on exported media.

BVIR maintenance integrated in zOS

BVIR delivers very good Reports, but is maintained outside of zOS. The Tapetools have to be downloaded, unpacked, installed, the already used JCL has to be checked for changes. The TS7700 is maintained with PTFs instead, as it is usual in zOS.
