This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Would you elaborate upon what Fast replication of tape means?

We have our TS7760's setup in a 4 way grid across 100km, and use the sync option - this essentially allows all but the last 25 meg to be written in synch mode as I understand it today.
2 local, and 2 remote
We use GPDS XRC (actually MzGM) over distance, which doesn't support tape as far as I know?
Its not clear what 'fast replication' is referring to. Ability to replicate just valid data on a tape?
I would say either NA for us, unless the requirement could be clarified.
What GDPS is this for? MM?
It should be great help to fast replicate data.

I'm not sure how this can be achieved, but reducing the time to replicate tape data over distance would be of great value. Such an enhancement is high priority for us.
Our tape team lead indicates this is of interest to us - medium priority.
