As with most companies nowadays, we have a very large focus on our environmental impact. Keeping track of our power consumption and carbon output is very important and it's something I would like to see added to be available from a PE-Pack for DASD.
Currently you can see the consumption on the DASD DSCLI by doing a 'showsu' command. For us this is a very manual process as it has to be run on every DASD individually.
It would be great to see this added as an output on the PE-Pack to start with. Within our company we have a monthly Health Check and this figure being part of the log would allow the data to be better collated. This would then give us a monthly snapshot of consumption which we could chart and graph and would allow us to better track our power consumption.
