This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

The IBM TS7700 hardware provides the possibility to start pre-migration in one or more CPx partitions when the Premigration threshold defined in the TS7760 is reached. This premigration may start at any point in time, whenever the threshold is reached and despite the definition(s) for Delayed Premigration in the Storage Classes of the data affected.
Since Premigration should start in a controlled manner and outside high load windows of front I/O, it should be avoided to have uncontrolled Premigration.
Reaching the limit of the define Premigration Threshold of a CPx partition should be possible to be monitored, which is not the case today, since certain TS7760 settings cannot be read out from through the host interface.
