Capacity on demand enhancement

Today's design of TS7770 Capacity on demand with FC 5262 and 5263 is not flexible enough as it is not aligned with the hardware capacity. E.g. in a six-drawer configuration the cache capacity is 472 TB but only 400 TB can be enabled by above FCs. 72 TB are wasted space and clients dislike this. I propose three FCs for 100 TB, 10 TB and 1 TB enablement (like DS8k utility offering RPQs) to allow for a cache enablement with 1 TB granularity.

CoD has been updated and supports 100TB and 20TB increments.

I also agree with the request. Perhaps the offering could be altered in one or both of two ways. First, allow the selection of the Feature Codes in "any order" .... so some 100TB features, and some number of 10TB or 20TB features, etc. Today, we are forced to take ten 20TB features, then grow in increments of 100TB.
This causes some odd results with the configuration ( example,... try to configure 690TB or 710TB....you will see big difference in the resulting h/w layout). This partly too because shelves must now be installed in pairs.
Second option might be, as another person has commented, allow for a 'NON-COD' option, and license all the availalbe disk enclosures with the numbers that I specify.
    Thanks,
    GG

I agree with this request, but my proposal is to have the possibility to select CoD or not CoD for the machine. In case you select no-CoD, then the full capacity of the installed drawers are available for use.
