Tape Drive Protection Feature to Prevent a Foreign Tape to be read

With the implementation of zCloud and IBM ATL being shared among several different customers. It is possible that a physical tape created by customer A be read in on customer B system by bypassing the tape management system (CA1, RMM, TLMS etc) on customer B and making critical data available to any of the customers sharing the ATL.

We believe this capability is available for IBM Z users through the Selective Device Access Control (SDAC) function of the TS7700 offering.

The TS7700 Redbook contains a detailed explanation of SDAC and how to implement it, if you need more information.

If this response does not address your concern, please resubmit your request.
