Add support for encrypted SMTP email relay (STARTTLS and/or SMTPS) for TS7700 system-generated email notifications, including alerts, events, and health status messages.

Enterprise security policy requires all system and infrastructure email communications to be encrypted in transit. The TS7700 currently relies on unencrypted SMTP email relay, which is no longer permitted through corporate mail gateways. As a result, TS7700 email notifications cannot be relayed without security exceptions or workarounds.

Enabling encrypted email relay would:

• Align TS7700 with modern enterprise security standards

• Eliminate the need for insecure SMTP exceptions

• Ensure continued delivery of critical system alerts

• Reduce audit, compliance, and security risk

• TS7700 email alerting may be disabled due to security policy enforcement

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Other modern IBM and enterprise infrastructure platforms support encrypted SMTP as a standard feature. Adding this capability would ensure TS7700 remains aligned with current security and compliance expectations.
