HYDRA encryption managed by the SMS constructs

Protecting data through encryption can be set on a per pool basis, which enables you to encrypt all or some of your data when it is written to the back-end tapes on TS7720, or for the whole disk cache. Customer would like to have encryption managed by the SMS constructs, so that it should be possible to select virtual tape volumes for encryption.

    IBM agrees that there is value for this request and it will be considered as a candidate for a future release. Since the encryption support for the disk cache and the back store tape cartridges is provided through the TS7700 itself, any changes will need to be coordinated with the TS7700 storage team.
